TUTHILL WINS GOVERNOR'S AWARD Press Home

Who: Oliver W. Tuthill Jr., President and Executive Director of Autumn Tree Productions, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to increasing public awareness of emotional child abuse through documentaries, PSAs, and narrative features. Tuthill is an award winning Writer, Director, and Producer. His documentaries are being distributed internationally.

What: Oliver W. Tuthill Jr. won the prestigious Governor's Award in Media for recognition of his outstanding work in Child Abuse Prevention. The award was presented to him by Governor Gary Locke at the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect's 20th Anniversary Celebration.

When: Tuesday, April 30, 2002

Where: Landmark Convention Center & Temple Theatre, Tacoma, Washington

Why: For Tuthill's tireless pursuit of raising public awareness of emotional child abuse and for his pro bono work on behalf of non-profits throughout the state.

Tuthill is set to begin production on his new documentary Paradigm Shift: Would A National Policy On Children's Rights Have Saved The Life Of Matthew Parsons? Parsons lived in Everett, Washington. He was badly abused at the age of 12 and lingered in a nursing home in Arizona until his death at age 17. The film will explore if a national policy on children's rights would prevent child abuse. ATP is currently seeking donations for this film.
