Oliver Tuthill holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both Psychology and Sociology and a Masters Degree in Psychology from Antioch University in Seattle where he designed and developed seminars, programs, and films on emotional child abuse. He worked with troubled youth at Presbyterian - St. Luke’s Hospital as a Psychiatric Aid and successfully completed volunteer training for the Crisis Clinic and New Horizons, which assisted homeless youth. He was a phone counselor volunteer with Parents Anonymous for over a year.

Oliver has written, directed, and produced eight documentaries, five public service announcements, four promotional films, and one full length feature which won the best picture award at the 8th Cinevue International Film & Video Festival in 2002. He has been the recipient of several Emerald City Awards and recently won the coveted Governor’s Award in Media for the prevention of child abuse from Washington State Governor Gary Locke at the 20th Anniversary of the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.

Oliver has also won awards for his musical scoring and pens and performs music for his films. He has worked with such rock legends as Styx, Steppenwolf, John Mayal, and The Missing Links. He was a professional actor in Hollywood during the 70s and 80s and performed for most of the major studios such as MGM, Columbia, 20th Century Fox, and Universal. He appeared in such films and TV shows as Quincy, Kaz, Bogie, Panic In Echo Park, Spider-Man, and Fall Into Darkness. He appeared in Quincy when it was the number one rated television program in the United States.

Oliver is a successful playwright whose plays deal with the emotional abuse of children and adults. His play Survivors was produced by the Northshore Theatre Guild in 1993 and received critical and public acclaim. His full length feature Dysphoria: An American Tragedy was based on that play. Galt International Productions produced his play Dead End Day in 1982. He is also an internationally published award winning photojournalist.

An award winning screenplay writer, Oliver currently has one script optioned with Ransom Pictures International in Hollywood.

Oliver is an Associate Member of the American Psychological Association, a member of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers, the Independent Film Project, Broadcast Music Incorporated, the Screen Actors Guild, the International Documentary Association, and the American Society for Journalists and Authors.
